Leeds Rhinos primed for Wigan cup clash

Post by josie andrews »

Red-hot Leeds Rhinos will be better prepared than ever before when they face Wigan Warriors in tomorrow's Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter-final, boss Brian McClennan insisted today.
McClennan claims Rhinos are ready and raring to go as they gear up to face the team who have caused them more problems than any other over the past couple of seasons.

Wigan were the last team to beat Leeds – winning 14-10 at Headingley Carnegie last month – and they also eliminated Rhinos from last season's Challenge Cup. Warriors have won four of the last five meetings between the two sides, but McClennan feels his team have it in them to buck the trend and keep their hopes of a grand slam of trophies alive on home soil tomorrow afternoon.

"We have prepared as good as we have ever prepared and we are in better frame of mind than the last time we played Wigan," McClennan said today.
"We are looking forward to it. We were a bit disappointed in ourselves, the way we played, the last time we played Wigan at Headingley. I think we took playing at Headingley Carnegie for granted a bit really.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
