semi fixtures

Post by wanny »

What does everyone think about both semi's being played at the same ground a day apart? i personally think it is a great idea, it gives all 4 sets of fans a reason to have a weekend break at the place were the game is going to be and they can also then watch both games. I think it would also boost the attendance of both fixtures potntially. so wot do u think? even fans who's teams arent playin can go for a weekend break rugby during the day and hit th town at night? GREAT!!!!

weekend break

Post by Fraggle »

in Huddersfield? No thanks! I'm told Wakefield is far better for a night out but it's hardly a great weekend away considering everyone lives within an hour of the place anyway. If the games were London or somewhere a bit further away then maybe, but I'm not going for a weekend away somewhere so close to home.

I didnt open the topic to ask if you though hddersfields was a good night out or not? i opened it to ask if you thought the idea of both semis being played like they are has the potential to make the semis of the cup more attractive to the punters? I know hudersfield isnt that good a night out? Anyway do u know Suzanne Ashton?

Maybe not but you did suggest fans of the sport could go there for the weekend. I was merely stating that I wouldn't do such a thing. There are no rules as to what bit of a message anyone can respond to. Sorry if that offended you, it wasn't intended to.

As for both semis being at the same place, I'd like to think it's a good idea but given recent circumstances this has been blantly done to dig the owners of the Macalpine out of the mire. A big stadium with no fans isn't going to make any money, which is why we won't get kicked out of the JJB because there are too many of us and they need our money. The Macalpine's not my favourite place at the best of times, I'd have preferred Headingley again like last year, although I can understand Leeds not wanting to go back to our place for a semi again!

As for Suzanne Ashton, can't say I recognise the name. Is she someone I should know?

lancashire la la la

I don't think its fair that they're both being played in yorkshire, and I think leeds and bradford fans would feel the same if they were both being played in lancashire, however its better than lettin saints play at jjb n get a good crowd cause its near them and then us going yorkshire n not gettin as many.
by the way, is huddersfield a cheap pub place?
