Where to watch?

Post by MRS BRIAN CARNEY »

I just wondered if anyone could tell me where is the best place at the JJB to veiw the game. We don't stand in the same place each match and so we get differing veiw's of the game. Where in the ground will be best to veiw the easter fixture wigan-saints...i don't want to miss a minute and want to be close to pitch side. Please help oh knowledgeable ones.

Depends on what you want.

The South Stand has a cracking atmosphere with lots of singing, and you are behind the sticks. However there are LOADS of kids in there with us.

If you want to either watch from the side, or just get away from the "creche" then the East Stand is the place to be. The drummer(s) and the crew are in there, but they are up toward the back of the stand.

Avoid the West stand like the plague (unless you fancy a quiet nap), and the North stand is for the away fans.

You say that you want to be close to pitch-side with a good view - Unfortunately the 2 seem to be pretty much mutually exclusive in this stadium.

You can EITHER have a good view from half-way up any of the stands (ie you can see ALL of the pitch, the markings and everything), or you can be close to pitch at ground level.

Saying that, half-way up these stands does NOT put you TOO far from the action. It's not like Bolton, where you feel totally removed from the action once you get about 15 rows back.

Hope that helps

Dont listen to that Pie Eyed dude! Now the East stand may be ok BUT if its a sunny day be prepared to have your hand over your eyes all the match because believe me you wont see anything for the sun!

Us connoiseurs sit in the West stand and not everyones dead in there trust me!

hehe damn right pie eater and proud of it.

I go in the west stand. and if im feeling particularly stressed out, il yell my head off. If ppl dont like it, tough! Im there for a good time to see the best team win (or at least have a damn good game!)

West stand i think the best place if u dont want to get blinded, harassed by sad act saints supporters (or such like) or to be drenched. So what if it aint as loud as the other stands. We make our own noise!

Do you mean our drummer(s) and singers.

They have all moved into the East stand, purely to get away from the creche that is the South stand.

Too many little kids who aren't interested in the game, just there to mess about with their mates.

Hopefully, one day they'll grow to appreciate the game itself, but until then I think we've lost "our" drummer to the East stand mob.

Just have to get together with them at away games for now...
