Former Bulls face assault charges

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

well lets look at this from a point of view as the feka trial.

Now Feka got 200hrs community service. In his case there was admitted provocation and the judge took into account his excellent disapinary (spelling?) record on the field. Also he threw just the one punch.

So

Enter Leon;

Although we dont know the in's and outs

Assualt, Damage and using violence to gain entry do not appear to be reactive behaviour but those of someone intent on causing harm

He has questionable record on the field and has been infront of the judicary on more than one occasion.

He has also glassed a coach in the past.

Anything less than a jail sentence here will be a complete mockery of justice!. Im not saying this as a Wigan fan but as a member of the general public, if fekas offence is worth pretty much all you can throw at him bar jail then this is definatly worth jail time!!

Firstly it will depend on whether he is actually guilty.

After that it will depend on the severity of his behaviour. Throwing a single punch could be argued to be a momentary loss of temper. Using violence to gain entry to a property sounds like it took more than a few seconds.

Pryce does not have a good disciplinary record. Apart from being sent off whilst playing for the Bulls, he has also been banned for "ungentlemanly conduct" on Sam Burgess.

Despite all this (and if he is guilty) he is unlikely to go inside for it - assault is a relatively minor offence as it implies that no physical harm was caused to the victim (as that would be ABH or GBH). So expect a telling off and a slap on the wrist

Precisely what on-field conduct can be included in any possible actual Court appearances?

I would doubt any, no matter how many testicles he squeezed or high tackles committed.

I suppose the case rests on who's property he and Reardon tried to gain entry too (relative etc).

Apparently it was his ex-wifes house!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west ... 544912.stm
Two rugby league players from Bradford have appeared in court charged with assault at a house in the city.

Both men are also charged with using violence to gain entry to the property. Bradford magistrates adjourned the case until 4 September.

The court was told the assaults were alleged to have happened at a house on Westwood Hall on 12 July.

Both defendants were released on conditional bail.
