A bloke who played a little for Blackpool Borough told me a tale re Ness Flowers. This bloke played hooker and was up against Tony Karalius. It was either Ness's debut or a very early game in the reserves. Being a union player, Ness would get the ball at scrums and shout "ball coming in now" This bloke from Blackpool won virtually every scrum in the first half thanks to Ness. At half time Karalius had words with Ness and the Blackpool hooker at the start of the second half. Safe to say Ness never said ball coming in now ever again and Blackpool hardly won a scrum in the second half.Kittwazzer wrote:Absolutely. We haven't had one like that since Greg!!turf wrote:Oh, sorry Kittwazzer, I thought it was an insult to Brough.
Sorry for misunderstanding your post mate!!!![]()

Anyway, I agree with you Kitwazzer, the more cheeky a scrum half it these days the better, i.e, Brough, don't you think????![]()

In my opinion that is an essential requirement of all the best scrum halfs in this game!!
It goes back as far as Tommy Bradshaw, continued by Alex Murphy and Andy Gregory. It is the scrum half's job to wind up the opposition.
Anyone remember the 1966 Challenge Cup Final???

Don't think I would have used the word 'nasty'.
Arrogant, troublesome, sneaky,.... In fact anything to wind up the opposition and put them off their game. And of course, wind up the opposing fans!!
Who was better at that than AJM???

Re: Was Danny Brough Wakefield...
Brough was rubbish . Wakefield only played well when Sculthorpe was on the pitch organising the team with all the attributes described. Brough is a good player in easy matches like Briers, and is defence is shocking.

Every time Wakefield are on tv, I sit down, and watch in awe most of the time, as I watch the Danny Brough show.

The biggest Room is the Room for improvement.
The best form of defence is attack!!
Out of the black and into the red, remember you don't get anything for two in a bed!!

It's only a joke lol.
What is Brough's hair about? I was watching the Super League Show and was trying to work out what it looks like! I settled on a badger.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I'd say a skunk as well, maybe something to do with his deep-set eyes as well as the silly hair. Having never met the guy I couldn't comment on whether he also smells...josie andrews wrote:A Skunkstandishcat wrote:It's only a joke lol.
