Why can Noble not motivate the team?

Post by cpwigan »

Ian Lenagan's criticism of Trent Barrett seem to have brought the best out of the Aussie ace.
The Wigan chairman told a fans' forum in July that the half-back's focus was 'not there' a week after Warriors had been humiliated 34-4 at home to Huddersfield.

But at a presentation ceremony at the JJB Stadium last night, Lenagan handed Barrett a special personal award and thanked him for his efforts in helping take Warriors to within 80 minutes of the 2008 Grand Final.
Lenagan said: "Trent and I had awful words after that fans' forum, but I admired and respected him for making his point.

"I respected him even more for the way he has led the team, especially in the last three games when the side has played magnificently.

"We are desperately sorry to be losing him next year."

So i see al the up turn is down to a few words spoken by IL. Nothing to do with Nobby.

Seems some people nevermind what they do will never get the respect they deserve. Just as last season we got stronger as it goes on. Or is that fact not regestring with you.

Maybe your grasping at straws as you were 1 screaming on here for us to get rid.

Ohh and for all you Shaun Edwards callers for the job Wasps have not won a game this season. Im sure if we did that with Nobby wed have the usual horde on here calling for his head.

We won 7 out of our 1st 10 games and 6 out of the last 17 of the regular season and after However many games we are yet to beat St Helens (we did manage a draw the week after the cup final when most teams lose). Does anyone seriously feel this is good enough?

Its great that we are doing well in the playoffs and playing with a bit of pride but it seems that people have very short memories.
Gareth Thomas before his first game: "You wanna spend 10 mins getting smashed up by these guys..Big dudes here.."

Its not good enough but problems we have are of the making of the previous owners. You cant make a great SL side inside 2-3 seasons anymore the cap stops you buying who you want. It take time to recruit the players you want. Apart from Fielden and i think Ellis i cant remeber a sizeable transfer fee being paid for a player. Carvell 50k pales in to comparsion of what went on pre SL.

Given where we were 3 years ago yes its a heck of a lot better than it was. Those bad times seems to be really lost on some people. Again were in our 3rd Semi final inside 2 seasons.

That is it, we did not. We went from the lowest point in 20+ years of watching Wigan to a sudden upturn in form. The sudden upturn seemingly brough about by IL basically challenging the players manhood. For 85% of the season we had Humpty telling us we were a good team and mollicoddling the players. So the evidence suggests he totally misunderstood how to manage this group of players.

Re; Shaun Edward. Stop being silly. I doubt he will ever return and last year Wasps lost more games before WINNING the Championship.

Did the owner of Wasps challenge his player manhood. Or did they peak at the right time of the season. they have a habit of that.

They tend to win a lot more games than they lose and rarely if ever lose the ones that matter whereas we embarass ourselves v Saints quite regularly and bottle it in the Cup. You really are on a loser re this comparison. It has no basis.
