Some players only get 2 meals per week [depends on training ie 1st team/reserve.
This has been going on for ages, I know of a former player who told me the players had to buy their own club suits and any specialist training equipment. He said they also paid for their meals. This was going on under Uncle Mo and I think Whelan instigated it because he is a tight fisted tosser as anyone who has had any dealings with him can probably confirm, he wouldnt give a door a bang!

Dave it was qouated at the last fans forum that we had not achieved the £4 million mark and he also was on Boots n All when it was our turn to be assessed as we did not achieve the £4million in fact i think we lost a point for it .

We did Jaws, because any money made re shirts merchandise etc went to Dave Whelan or Whelco or whoever to do with them, and not to the Warriors coffers. That is what Mr Lenegan was surprised at.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

What is so magic about £4m? Under the old 50% salary cap rules a club would have had to turnover £3.2m to spend to the limit of the cap in 2008 ( 2 x £1.6m ) but that rule got shelved anyway (because of the live salary cap).

Is £4m part of the franchise criteria and if so how? Turnover I assume.

I would have thought all bar Leeds would not turnover £4m.

Perhaps it got you the 2 franchise points for finances?

I think Mike is correct. I recall IL saying we only just made the turnover required albeit there was a discussion about accounting practices used etc.

I thought we didn't get the points but would have been on a par with Leeds is we had?

May be right GP. I think we said our accounting practices cost us but we were still only just over or touching.

Correct, but that's a long way from being a £4m shortfall.
