Surely dangerous and foul play that should lead to a penalty try when it occurs in the ingoal area?

They should say Steve pretend you have scored a try and hold the ball on the ground for a try. Somebody should then come along and kick his hands and then say why did you not keep hold of the ball

Slater could do two things with his foot:

1) Kick the ball out of the players hands

2) Put his foot where the player is going to ground the ball

The first is not legal, the second is fine when preventing a try. It wasn't dangerous, the Kiwi lands on his foot losing the ball, Slater prevents a try - good defence.

According to Eddie + Stevo, penalty tries canot be given any more.

Ganson should have given a penalty to the attacking side which was New Zealand.

PS: Brent Tate looked in a bad way.

Studs were down when the man landed on his boot - he didn't make a play at the ball or the man.

The issue here Rob is not whether it should have been a penalty or was it dangerous play etc. - the issue is that Ganson should make a clearly ridiculous and incorrect statement that Slater's boot had no effect on the ball being lost.

This also follows last weeks amazing decisions, this time by Ashley, to twice say that Ganson had blown the whistle by mistake - when there is no way he blew by mistake either time.

How can refs make statments that are clearly and provably incorrect without any action being taken. Mistakes are understandable, but this sort of "newspeak" is crazy.

To be honest, whether this was safe or not, no penalty, well, infact reward for kicking the ball out of his hands will lead for other players to do it... Maybe this one was safe, but what about the next one?

Oh, and wasn't Tommy warned for doing this at the JJB a while back?
