Auction

Post by josie andrews »

Hello everyone, a few weeks ago I attended the Service Area Dinner at the DW Stadium.

I was fortunate enough to win a couple of prizes which I have donated to be auctioned off with the proceeds to be split between Help the Heroes charity & the Reserve/Academy teams.

There will be envelopes on the tables in the south stand bar before & after the game on Friday against Harlequins. These are to enable people to cast a bid for the 3 items, the highest/best bid to receive the prizes.

If anyone on here would like to put forward a bid, please send me a pm with your bid and your contact details.

The prizes are:

Wigan Warriors signed shirt

A Magnum of Champagne

Six months pass to Profiles gym

Thank you Josie :)

Here is a reminder, due to the minor glitch with the site :)

The gym pass & the shirt have both gone to the highest bidders :)

Just the magnum of champagne now is left open to bids.

This will be autographed by Michael Maguire & Shaun Wane :)

Thank you

Didn't manage to get the label signed anyway, sorry.

The champagne is Laurent-Perrier Brut L-P & just for a bottle you can pay £30 below is an online site
Laurent Perrier Brut NV Champagne Magnum (1.5 ltr) in L-P

Country: France
Region: Champagne
Category: Champagne - Non-Vintage

Description:
Pale gold in colour with fine and persistent bubbles. Delicate and fresh aromas with good complexity and notes of citrus and with fruit.

Fresh and supple upon entry with rounded and expressive flavours from which the fruit progressively emerges. Good balance and length.

Brut L-P's fresh and elegant style has been a major factor in the success of champagne as an apéritif.

Grape Variety: Chardonnay 45%, Pinot Noir 40%, Pinot Meunier 15%.

Chardonnay is the dominant grape variety and its proportion is unusually high for a non-vintage champagne blend, being double the average

Background: The blend is made of wines from more than 55 crus or villages with an average vineyard rating of an impressive 94%. At least 10%, and sometimes over 20% of reserve wines are also used to ensure perfect consistency in the Brut L-P.

Brut L-P is aged on its lees for approximately three years - whereas the requirement is only 15 months in Champagne. Only a very light dosage (12 grams per litre) is used to preserve its balance and natural freshness. After dosage, all Laurent-Perrier's wines are cellared for a further three months prior to shipping.

"The best big-name non-vintage champagne around, complete with consistently good, lively, waxy, apple and roasted almond-licked fruit."

I am now closing the auction as the bidding on two of these items, the shirt & gym pass, have gone.

Thank you to everyone who made a bid, and congratulations to the successful bidders for the shirt & gym pass.

The champagne will go to the Riversiders to raffle off at the Question of Sport night in July & the funds will go towards the academy teams & Help the Heroes charity.

Again thanks for your support.

Josie
