State of Origin I

Can't wait for it tomorrow should be a spectacle. Apparently NSW are favourites for the first time in a while. Cameron Smith is injured.

Think queensland will edge it but will be close, have put the 'better' in bold.

Good match in the end Queensland edged it but they should have tightened up their defence at the end.

Too many players out of position for NSW initially, will be interesting to see what changes Bellamy will make in Origin II.

I thought NSW started well and strong with Queensland looking shakey. Inglis was never involved apart from his try, agree with the commentators he woke up... I expect II should be closer

Thought NSW with a centre at 6, and a full back on the wing wasnt the best decision. NSW were caught out on their right side pretty easily.
When Lyon went to centre they looked stronger.
Cant remember the NSW (Paramatta) wingers name, but he stepped in too fast and was caught out, doest he normally play full back at the Eels. Comments about his poor defending were made by Peter Sterling and Wally Lewis.
I thought that it was the errors that Quennsland made early in the game made NSW look better. Slater doesnt normally drop balls like he did early on.
IMO Bellamy will make positional changes for Origin II, and as you say, I think it will be a closer game.

NSW chop and change their team far too much. They are up against a very good Queensland team with some legend backs who are used to playing together season after season.

Our refs are a disgrace to the game.
I was thinking exactly the same whilst watching it. The bigger the game the more determined Aus officials are not to penalise. In SL, the opposite applies.
