Statistically
Fielden had a very poor game v Leeds. Even Prescott emerged with far better stats. Coley was the standout prop but his errors / penalties perhaps blotted his efforts.
Re: Statistically
Goes to show stats count for nothing, his errors outweighed the good he did
Re: Statistically
Possibly Pedro. As far as carries / metres gained though he was massive. Where do you stop though? Lockers massive contribution but one of the highest mistake / penalties conceded rate.

no need to stop as you dont start mate, we can see how many and costly the mistakes were he madecpwigan wrote:Possibly Pedro. As far as carries / metres gained though he was massive. Where do you stop though? Lockers massive contribution but one of the highest mistake / penalties conceded rate.

Re: Statistically
THing is Prescott may have done many things right but its hard to avoid the fact that was a needless very silly penalty to give away and had a big impact on how the game finished

Re: Statistically
To a degree but when his penalty was given all we needed was 5 tackles and a kick call quick and clean and we would have woncherry.pie wrote:That's true, but you could argue that many other penalties put Leeds in a position from where they could win the game. Every penalty is costly. The ones that directly cost us 2 points I would say are the worst.Wigan_forever1985 wrote:THing is Prescott may have done many things right but its hard to avoid the fact that was a needless very silly penalty to give away and had a big impact on how the game finished
Prescott conceded the penalty which was a stupid penalty to concede but nearly 5 minutes had passed before Leeds scored and we had a couple of sets to get ourselves out of trouble and yet mistakes were made by players during that time. So you could also argue that errors made by Sam Tomkins, Gleeson, Amos Roberts etc. lost us the game.
As it happens, I think many players lost a bit of composure at the crucial time which cost us, but I don't think Prescott, Gleeson, Richards, Coley, Bailey, Lockers or anyone else is any more to blame than anyone else.

Re: Statistically
Its true CP that the game wasn't lost by the Prescott penalty however we were in great field position with 5 mins left and it gifted them a track down field which put pressure on us. It was so obvious aswell, as has been mentioned the ref wasn't the best so to give him such an easy pen was a bad move. I think that was the start of a very poor 5 mins from the whole team i just cant help thinkin that had we of retained the feild position we were in it would of been an easy last 5cherry.pie wrote:That's true, but you could argue that many other penalties put Leeds in a position from where they could win the game. Re: Statistically
So, statistically:
Fielden 10 / 57 ave 5.7
Riddell 18 / 83 ave 4.6
Coley 23 / 158 ave 6.8
Joel T 8 / 45 ave 5.6
Bailey 14 / 83 ave 5.9
Lockers 15 / 68 ave 4.5
Prescott 14 / 80 ave 5.7
McIllorum 5 / 23 ave 4.6
Meaning Stu had the 3rd best (joint) highest yardage.
An inept reffering dislay cost us the game, giving some pedantic penalties and missing 2 obvious sin binnable (at least) offences from Leeds.
I see no value in slating any of the forward pack in what was and should have ended up a very good game.It was never going to be pretty (giving the weather) and I think the team had a bloody good game
