Ganson had a shocker. Stevo should have been ref tonight. at least he knew when the yellow and red cards should be used. good win though and good effort by all the lads

No doubt about it in my mind. Ablett's brief from the outset was to 'keep Sam quiet'! They did the same against Stains when they took Pryce & Eastmond out. If those two had stayed on, Stains would have won by 20!

On the Red Button, I nearly swallowed my can when McLennan came on and tried to excuse Ablett and Bailey. He is obviously just a thug of the Paul Cullen genre. Hell Fire, he looks more like a Night Club 'gangsta' than a sports coach.

And he talks like one!

Always good to get a subjective report from the opp
 I think Sky+ will show Ablett lined him up raised his forearm took aim and scored a direct hit.
But then I do support Wigan so as the Lededs coach said after the match he'll be okay Tomkins leaned into the challenge. (is that called "the Yeamon defence?" :conf: )

the rain took its toll on the leeds lads. Poor lads. If it hadn't been raining we'd have put 40 on em and as the lad says it was a pretty much full strength side who weren't thinking about next weeks game so why he thinks the playoffs will be any different I have no idea. It was a great performance by us, particularly in the rain and its cheered me up a bit after a really crap week.

Watched the game when I got home & Hemmings stated after the game that just because the 2 LEEDS players have been put on report doesn't mean they will get a ban!! or words to that effect lol

Leeds have a cup match next week & no doubt the RFL disciplinary panel will take this into consideration & as the 2 players are from Leeds & that the opponents were Wigan.....

So, there will be no case to answer on either count. It will be Sam's fault for running into Ablett's elbow at speed, & George will have bent over onto Bailey's knee as he was running :sly:

Then they will look at the players previous record/s, which will either be exemplary or they will have been wiped clean accordingly :eusa16:

No punishments - penalties deemed sufficient :exc:
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Possible answer-The other referees have been as equally garbage, but he's like the guy at work who's rubbish at work and gets away with it by shouting to everyone within earshot how good he is!!! I'd say the guy's a clown, but at least they're meant to be funny.

Cpwigan is right. Senior whacked Sam on the back of the head when he lost the ball. Crystal clear on first viewing. There was a leading arm to the neck of one of our players for their first try.

Ablett shouldn't just get a red card he should've been locked up for that.

This Leeds sde has been more thuggish than Don Revie's football side was but in both Headingley games have been given the green light to do what they want. The fact that Sam has somehow avoided having to eat through a straw for the next month should spare noone from Leeds or the referees from paying a price for letting this happen.

All credit to Sam for the fearless way he played the match and to the rest of the team, many of them in a state of disrepair, for a fantastic win.

I am still flummoxed as to why Coley was sin binned... for a tackle? It's hard to see how and why he was sent. Oh, wait a minute... he tackled rob burrow below his shoulders...

Watch the challenge quite a few times. There is clear intent to hurt Sam but the panel will do nothing, hoping we'll all forget.

On another point, did Clarkson ground the ball for his try? My first instinct was that he dropped it but Ganson awarded it immediately but couldn't see it clearly cos Sam was in the way. Brought them into the game.

Apparently there are several fans who think Clarkson did not score. The flipside is that Goulding might have knocked on when it looked like he had caught the ball with that fabulous effort.
