Wigan 16 Huddersfield 18

The Bentham factor had us again. Mason should have walked for what he did to Fielden, don't know if people saw but blatently stamped on his ankle a horrible off the ball incident and in the second half grapple tackled Stu and forced his head to the floor.

When Stu was sin binned (wrongly) Radlinski put the earphones onto him and madge told him what was what was good to see.

A game we should have won... how many breaks did we have and we blew it? many knock ons trying to rush plays we had the giants by the balls and came unstuck... Im afraid our right hand side let us down, we missed Carmont who went off with an injury/cut to his hand which was quite serious so that affected us from the off.

Again, Davies sat on the bench... remember Leeds in the cup with Deacon?

We should have won this. Concerning.

Not blaming the ref he made poor decisions for both sides, eddie n stevo agreed also which was shocking. We let ourselves down we should have won but we couldn't turn breaks into points, we panicked. If we'd have had more experience (gleeson and carmont) we'd have probably been solid enough in defence and had more skill in attack. We missed Mossop as I think Tuson had a poor game, as did Farrell - not the usual standard we see of him.

Bring on Hull KR - heads up... get it right for the playoffs.

Bentham was dire, as expected, but we still should have won.

On the bright side, considering we had half the team out injured (plus losing Carmont), I'm not too worried.

I thought Farrell had an excellent game - Crabtree was running at him all night and Faz dropped him every time.

sorry, was speaking offensively... counted at least 3 errors form both, our passing was a bit skewed between the two and marsh... tonight just didn't happen for these guys.

Fielden played well as did Feka and Coley in the middle

Bentham was largely irrelevant. Annoying but not overly important.

Concerning. Yes. We need to be fielding our play off 17 by the time we face Bradford. Our attack tonight was embarassing and back to the bad old days pre Madge. Wide shift 2nd man play if fails then a wide cross field kick. No variety of play no playing down the middle to create space / gaps out wide. No so called dummy runner / first runner actually hitting the pass to threaten the defence. Worst of all whatever we did was error ridden.

Two teams with awful completion rates. Neither playing to the standard required but Huddersfield hardly wever escaping their own half. Unfortunately, any team will at some point in the 80 have a spell on the opposition line. Huddersfield got theirs and took advantage with some quirky tries. Mind you ours bar Tomkins effort were not any better. Garbage RL by both teams.

Ben Davies. Puzzling. A coaching error?

The League Leaders will happen but the big worry is the play offs. The team that played tonight will not go far in the play offs playing like that. We need to get back to what was working and that means Sam back to 6 and Deacon only used in emergency. If Sam wants to scoot he can do that from 6 or 1 but he needs to be playing 6. Deacon is a great reserve but his legs are gone and it cost us tonight. Play Roberts / Phelps or Marsh at 1. Anybody who think Pryce can play top drawer RL needs their head examining. He turns like an oil tanker. He is simply too big and cumbersome. We missed Goulding tonight in defence but even in energy scooting etc. Charnley would have done better too. For all the fans who love Feka then sorry but thank heaven we are getting shut. He is a dinosaur. Slow, cumbersome and he cannot even lock on when he tackles. His go forward comes from bulk not technique. Salford should let him eat plenty and use him in small doses. He has found his standard. Hopefully Eamon or Prekky can get back ASAP. Hopefully Mickey Mac can get back ASAP to give Piggy some help.

I thought Tuson and Farrell whilst trying hard were a tad found wanting. Faz is better playing on the left. Both made too many mistakes.

Only Sam Tomkins emerged with any credit. Even Locker had a mare.

A very bad day at the office

Why can Huddersfield not bring any away support

re: Pryce, the kick break by Hodgson Pryce would have been left for dead if the ball bounced differently and Dodgy looked forward and ran for it, luckily it didnt and Pryce got to him... quite slow and again seemed 'injured' after the tackle was made. Out of breath?
