That's ironic.

Are you sure he played rugby? That's debatable!crookmeister wrote:David Vaealiki has retired from rugby all together.

Re: Sad News
Think he would have retired a whole lot earlier had he ever trained under Madge!
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.
Re: Sad News
Very much maligned but not his fault IMO. He was a decent player prior injury. Post injury it killed his attacking game. The muppets that signed him are to blame not the player.
Re: Sad News
got to agree with you there cpwigan, he has obviously had a lot of injury issues for many years and for injuries to force retirement at (what 29?) is shame, hope it works out for the guy to be honest

Excellent post Cherry. Never even considered Pat but you are 100% correct IMO.cherry.pie wrote:It's slightly worrying that it was an achilles tendon injury that effectively ended his career, considering that's what Richards is out with now.cpwigan wrote:Very much maligned but not his fault IMO. As you say before his injury he looked a very good player but the club should never have signed him. I'm pretty sure he was injured from April onwards in 2004 and didn't play again until his debut for Wigan. His pace and acceleration seemed to drop considerably. If I'm not mistaken Phil Bailey also picked up an achilles tendon injury and after that he no longer seemed capable of playing in the backs.
It shows how important it is for the club to be cautious regarding Pat's return.

Re: Sad News
Pat looked very well last night & said he had been running in the pool, next it is on the field. He also said he would be out for maybe another 2 months, will have to see how it goes.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
