Keith Senior ruled out for the rest of Leeds' season
Leeds Rhinos centre Keith Senior has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
The 35-year-old former Great Britain international has cruciate ligament and cartilage damage following Friday's 40-20 Challenge Cup win over Harlequins.
Senior will have an operation at the start of June but is out of contract at the end of the season.
The injury is not thought to be as serious as those suffered by team-mates Jamie Peacock and Danny McGuire.
"I was devastated after the specialist confirmed the worst news," Senior said.
"The injury is similar to the one that Kallum Watkins had last year and he was back in training after four months so that is my immediate goal after the surgery.
"Hopefully everything will go well and my aim is to return to playing next season."
Head coach Brian McDermott added: "First and foremost, our thoughts are with Keith. He has been outstanding for us this season both on and off the field.
"We will make sure he gets the best possible medical care and our medical staff have a good track record in getting players back from this sort of injury."
Senior joins Rhinos backs Brent Webb, Ben Jones-Bishop, Kallum Watkins and McGuire on the current list of injured players.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

With King likely to return home that might not be so unlikely

A thug in sheeps clothing but a player that as earned my admiration over the years.Hope that he is allowed to end his career the way he would wish and not through injury.

The one thing that senior did that I liked was punch wilkin...

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?
Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

Wilkin's got the kind of face everyone should want to punch. The unfortunate thing is that not enough have.
