Terry forced to make changes for tonight

Post by josie andrews »

Tigers head coach Terry Matterson has been forced to make two late changes to his 19-man squad ahead of tonight's away clash with Wigan.
Youngsters John Davies and Charlie Martin come into the squad in place of experienced duo Ryan Hudson and Danny Orr who both have failed fitness tests this morning having suffered knocks in Friday's game against Warrington.
Back row forward Davies, 20, is in line to make his second Super League appearance after making his debut away at Catalans Dragons in March last year.
Under 18's prop Martin, 18, is in line to make his first team debut. Charlie has impressed in the Rugby League 9's competition and is a member of the club's AASE (Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence) programme who train on a near full time basis.
John and Charlie are two of nine home grown players in the revised 19-man squad all of whom are 21 or under and have emerged from the club's youth system in recent years.
These other players are Daryl Clark (18), Oliver Holmes (18), Adam Milner (19), Joe Arundel (20), Greg Eden (20), Nathan Massey (21), Richard Owen (21).

Revised Tigers squad:

Jake Emmitt
Brett Ferres
Nick Fozzard
Oliver Holmes
Stuart Jones
Charlie Martin
Ryan McGoldrick
Nathan Massey

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
