Well that'll bring to a couple of thousand then. Only another 23000 to go until you can fill the place... Or perhaps you'll grow so big that you'll need a bigger stadium, at which point we'll happily take the JJB off your hands. You could move in with Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok...latics4eva posted:That is the end of an era, just like rugby latics will grow stronger n stronger with attendance doubling over the next 2 seasonsFraggle posted:Haven't Wigan RLFC won more things in the last 10 years than the Latics? By the way, well done for successfully not bothering to answer any of the points put to you. What a good way to be taken seriously.latics4eva posted:That is the end of an era, just like rugby latics will grow stronger n stronger with attendance doubling over the next 2 seasonsFraggle posted:Haven't Wigan RLFC won more things in the last 10 years than the Latics? What is the end of an era? I dont really understand. Just talk about rugby because I dont think nobody really cares about latics on this board. Were rugby fans so just talk about anything to do with rugby.latics4eva posted:That is the end of an era, just like rugby latics will grow stronger n stronger with attendance doubling over the next 2 seasonsFraggle posted:Haven't Wigan RLFC won more things in the last 10 years than the Latics? But how are you saying the 2 are linked? Have we gone kack because you got promoted (or vice versa)? Of course not. The results of one team have no effect on the results of the other.latics4eva posted:That is the end of an era, just like rugby latics will grow stronger n stronger with attendance doubling over the next 2 seasonsFraggle posted:Haven't Wigan RLFC won more things in the last 10 years than the Latics? If the 2 aren't linked then, why are you here talking only about Latics' (admittedly brilliant) achievement? We are here to discuss all things RL - you might get a better debate sticking to a soccer site.
Re: Latics4Eva
It was before the salary cap came in that our problems started - spending money we hadn't got (like CC prize money, before we'd actually won it!). That made it necessary to sell off many of our best players, which worsened results even more.warrior till i die posted:
well it was always going to happen ww. The other teams turned pro and the thing which done us most was the salary cap (which I have never quite understood) all weve got to do is be patient and wait for Millward to work his magic.
If any one turning point could be chosen, it was losing to Salford in '96.
I still see the salary cap idea as basically a good one; it's the 20/20 I disagree with. I believe clubs should be able to distribute their £1.8m how they feel is best for them - whether it's a lot of high-paid stars, with little in reserve, or vice-versa. (or somewhere in-between)

They won't have a problem filling the JJB - with away fans!Fraggle posted:
