Karl Pryce rejoins Bradford Bulls on a one-year deal

Post by josie andrews »

Bradford Bulls have re-signed former star three-quarter Karl Pryce on a one-year contract.

The 25-year-old made 56 appearances for the Odsal club, scoring 34 tries and one goal, in his previous stay from 2003 until 2006.

He switched codes to join Gloucester before returning to league with Wigan in 2008 but spent last season on loan at Harlequins.

"To play for my hometown club again is special," he told the Bulls website.

"When I was 15, and coming through the ranks at Bradford, I think I took that a little bit for granted."

The versatile back, who can play wing, centre or stand-off, has endured a number of injuries during his career, most notably an ankle fracture that blighted his spell in rugby union and hampered him in his first season at Wigan.

I'm delighted to be back here because I've missed the place
But after making his Super League comeback in February 2009, he has gone on to score 24 tries in just 31 appearances for the Warriors and Quins.

"I've played in Wigan-St Helens derbies and I'm really looking forward to getting back into a Bradford-Leeds derby again," he continued

"I'm just delighted to be back here because I've missed the place. I said a couple of years ago that I'd always love to come back to Bradford.

"In fact I said when I left the club five years ago that I'd absolutely love to one day return. I've taken the long way round, via Gloucester, Wigan and Harlequins, but I'm happy to be back."

That was a quick contract with Castleford!! Below is the original post made last November.

Former Wigan star KARL PRYCE is set to be handed a career lifeline by Castleford.

The former prodigy is looking for a club after his Warriors contract expired.

Now Tigers boss Ian Millward is ready to take a punt on the 25-year-old, who spent last season on at Harlequins.

It was clear he would not get a new deal at Wigan and there was no sign of a club coming in until Castleford's interest.

Meanwhile, Tigers full-back Richie Mathers is signing for Wakefield after being told he has no future at the club.

Don't care which team he plays for just glad he's moved on from us.I was more than willing to give this big galoot the benefit of the doubt. But he was just one lazy so and so.Some of the tries he scored for us where so easy I believe I could have done the same thing even with a guide dog in tow.
