Anyone other than Eric Ashton and Dean Bell - possibly apart from Miles would be a travesty. Some nominations aren't fit to clean the boots of some nominees and we're talking about the Best Ever ensemble of Wigan players here.


Imagine Terry Newton and George Carmont ousting Joe Egan and Eric Ashton, we've already had one wrongful inclusion in my view.

Is this reverse psychology, because I cant see the point of having a poll to be told who to vote for by the organiser

Of the players i've seen era-wise, Dean Bell & Gary Connolly my choices.

Both fearsome defensively, would have acknowledged a crime if they had missed a tackle ! Also brilliant on attack, whose wingers benefitted from their centre play and always likely to make clean breaks, leading to scores.

Its Dean Bell for me, I only got to see Eric Ashtonnear the end of his career at Wigan.

Inga because he was just a human bulldozer, really quick and good feet for a huge bloke, brilliant hands too.
Gary Connolly, for the length of time he spent at the club and the longevity of being able to play at such a top level for so long.
He only just shades it for me above Bell and Renouf.
