Greg Eden scores a try against Wigan Warriors

GREG EDEN has put pen to paper on an extended contract for the Huddersfield Giants.

The 21-year-old full back has agreed a new deal with the Super League club that will see him remain at the Galpharm Stadium until the end of the 2015 season.

The exciting prospect, who has been hailed as the British Billy Slater by Giants head coach Nathan Brown, has played in 16 of their fixtures this season, scoring 11 tries.

Eden joins a growing list of young English players signed up on long-term deals by the Giants, and the clubs managing Director Richard Thewlis said: "Greg has received many plaudits in a relatively short period of time with us.

"He is a player that both head coach Nathan Brown and assistant Paul Anderson have recommended that we move to tie up to a longer-term deal sooner rather than later.

"I think all our supporters will be delighted that we have been able to finalise this and it is great to have his signature logged for the foreseeable future."

The son of former Wakefield Trinity three-quarter Phil Eden, has revelled since moving to Huddersfield in the close season from Castleford Tigers on an initial two-year deal.
