Go forward?

Post by DaveO »

Saw this in an article inthe Sydney Morning herald about one of Wigan's rumoured transfer targets for next season:

"The try scored by replacement Palea'aesina in the 37th minute was frightening. The 110-kilogram prop took the ball straight from a tap and charged at a clutch of defenders, trampling through them.

The 23-year-old is off contract and has been linked with British Super League club Wigan for next season, but coach Kemp said: "Iafeta knows what I think about him … fingers are crossed that he wants to stay."

Fingers crossed he doesn't!

Not much else of Wigan intertest in the article but the link is here:

Watched him come on as a replacement the other week on Sky and i thought he looked like a really good prospect, we could do with a no-nonsense prop at the minute to provide some go-forward.

Thanks for that one, DaveO! Sounds like just what we've been missing. The amount of time we seem to be spending inside our opponents' 10 metre line, and coming away with nothing, has been the difference between winning and losing many of our games this season. A big guy like that doesn't even need to score, just attract 4 defenders to him to leave gaps outside - much like Platt and Skerrett used to do.

Fingers crossed!
