WIGGOS NIGHT ON THE TILES

Post by josie andrews »

CYCLING superstar Bradley Wiggins looked a bit wobbly on his wheels as he finishes celebrating his Sports Personality Of The Year triumph early yesterday.

Wiggo was the life and soul of the after-show party, where he played guitar on stage to Oasis hit Wonderwall and The Jam’s That’s Entertainment.

The Tour de France and Olympic gold medal winner, who dazzled crowds in his velvet suit, then let off steam at Whisky Mist nightclub in Mayfair.

He looked bleary-eyed as he left the club clutching a bottle of beer at 3am.

The dapper mod’s tie was gone and his shirt undone.

But despite looking like he needed help to stand, Wiggo was still cracking jokes, making wife Catherine, 31, break into fits of laughter as they climbed into a car.

Two hours later the top athlete was tucking into a McDonald’s takeaway

Wiggo, 32, bagged 30% of phone votes in the SPOTY poll, while heptathlete Jess Ennis, 26, was second with 23% and tennis ace Andy Murray, 25, third with 14%.

A massive 14.5million people tuned in to watch the BBC review of the sporting year, billed by many as the greatest in our history.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
