Great News... for me anyway

Post by josie andrews »

As most of you know, myself & my long time partner have had a very traumatic 2012.

For those of you that don't, Stephen had a very agressive type of oesophageal cancer.

After chemotherapy treatment which almost killed him, Christies were fighting for his life for two weeks before they finally brought him back from the brink. Then undergoing a fifteen hour operation, with many complications during & after the surgery, they discovered that they hadn't got all of the cancer.

He then had to undergo four weeks of intensive radiotherapy to try eradicate the remaining cancer.

On Tuesday we spent the afternoon at Salford with dieticians & specialists then on Wednesday was spent having a full body CT scan at Wigan.

Friday's is the day that the specialist team gets together to review patients progress & what further treatment, if any, is needed.

Well today, Stephen's case was reviewed & they had the results of his CT scan, they had asked for the results to be priority.

He has been given the "All Clear" up to now!!

I just want to thank everyone who has offered their love, prayers & support it has been very welcome & very much appreciated.

God Bless x
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
