Gelling Sidelined

Warriors Head Coach Shaun Wane confirmed post match after the loss against Huddersfield on Saturday that Anthony Gelling could be out of action for six weeks, he told us,

"We have lost Anthony with medial knee ligaments which is not good, he will be six weeks or so."

And on Sam Tomkins, Shaun added,

"Sam has a knock on his shoulder from the Warrington game and he will be struggling for this week as well. Sam pulled out on Friday and any team would miss his influence in the side. He got a knee off Adrian Morley at the end of the game against Warrington, we thought he may have broken his scapula at one point, it is just really bad muscle damage and bruising.

"There is no change with Chris Tuson and H they are still out as is Paul Prescott so we are a little bit busted at the moment."

Shaun also revealed that Blake Green had been suffering from tonsillitis all week and was taken off late on at Huddersfield as he tired but will be OK for London.

That was an unnecessary challenge by Morley, which didn't even get a penalty.

Morley puts knees in on Sam putting him out for 2 weeks and gets no charge to answer from the disciplinary panel.

Myler takes a knee off Leon Pryce and Smith calls for him to be banned for a cheap shot.

It will be interesting to see the what Pryce gets when the weekends matches are reviewed.

Morley knew how lucky he was to get away with his "challenge", he looked at the referee straight afterwards.

I wouldn't expect the disciplinary to act on this or any of the half dozen cheap/high shots he puts in every match.

Like Peacock and Wilken, they are immune to sanction by red hall.

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

On the RFL site it was "looked at". Their conclusion was that the video evidence was inconclusive as to the point of contact. I wonder how many camera angles they asked to view? And just to think if Morley had got a one week suspension he wouldn't now be out for about 10 weeks. Ironic, rugby gods.
