How is that good business when you let your best go after developing them in the hope the next guy in the system is just as good. We are not making the right decisions. Professional sports is about winning and keeping your best talents atm we are letting them go on the hope we get it right.Whelley Warrior wrote:No different at other club's but they do not produced as many better players than Wigan.josie andrews wrote:He will also pay them crap money whilst having them sign long term contracts so they will eventually look for a better deal elsewhere and he then recoups any money he has out laid in the first place by getting a transfer fee!!cpwigan wrote:
I know the answer and the time thereafter has proven my point of view. IL thinks youngsters can replace anyone / everyone despite far better judges like John Monie always arguing otherwise. Whats more, IL will screw youngsters because they should be grateful that they are living the dream as he puts it!

Wigan Warriors fan in a distant second IMO
As Paul Cullen once said, "Its my job to pick up the scraps unable to get into the Wigan first team squad"
Good business for the club and indeed the game. We get the money and others get a better player.
Nothing wrong with that as long as we make the right decisions on who to keep and who to let go.

We didn't "sow" anything. It has never been any different in that money always talks. RU was amateur and an RU player turning pro could only do so by switching to RL. That wasn't our fault and we should not have to hold our tongues when expressing our displeasure at RU signing our best players because we were once able to sign the amatuer games best.cpwigan wrote:
We have happily been taking advantage of Union for decades and recently before it turned, the poor Aus $ to £, overseas money shams to take players from Union from Aus. We reap what we sow and there is no point people crying about it.

For over a century, the RU said that the paying of players was wrong and then in 1996 along came Sky with it's thirty pieces of silver.

They were paying players for as long as i can remember. They just didn't get an official wage. It was known as travelling expenses etc.Whelley Warrior wrote:For over a century, the RU said that the paying of players was wrong and then in 1996 along came Sky with it's thirty pieces of silver.

Glad it is over this was the worst kept secret ever and I don't think SAMS heart is in playing for us anymore. Perhaps he might really try to play on Saturday and give us some sparkRobWigan wrote:Granada reports at 6 tonight, Tony Iro, assistant at New Zealand tells them that Sams deal to the NRL is a definate one
