Michael McIllorum injured?

Post by Wigan Warriors No 1 fan »

Very odd Michael McIllorum start on the bench and we put Sam Powell who is stand off or half back in hooker and don't bring McCilorum on until then second half he got about 20 minutes and was took off again, why? If he was fit to play that was really dumb.

Edited spelling  - Josie

He wasn't right. Not sure he even got 20mins. He looked to lack intensity in defence and speed in attack too. It was his first run out, but what looked like a very late fitness test and lots of warm up before he came on were question marks for me before we saw him enter the game. He was last one back in after warm ups, stood with trainer not looking comfortable most of that time, then was doing an extension warm up at strt of second half, again with the trainer, again not looking comfortable.

I'm sure Logan was dressed and warming up too. Not sure what the rules on this are, but if we could have pulled both him and Lockers out before the game I thing we should have. Need to start with 17 fit and available to go guys in a game like that, and we didn't do it. I think one player was pulled to keep him in with a chance of Sydney and the other played to get some game time before it, but was not ready for a Super League game v Huddersfield clearly.
in the world of mules, there are no rules

You would hope it's not the case, but is some one trying to dampen speculation of him going to Salford by shoving him in the squad when he is not fit ? Think he was on for about 10 - 15 mins
we don't stop playing because we grow old ....... we grow old because we stop playing

Apparently IIRC, Mac had a knock pre match and then got another when he came on meaning he went off sooner than anticipated. Ultimately it was a waste of a XVII spot.

Perhaps to give him a fitness test in view of the team going to Australia the following day?

No matter what the reason it didn't work. Can't see him going to Salford either.
