New Centre
New Centre
If the rumours are true and Dallas is going, that frees up a quota spot. We need a centre as we all know and we have 2 wingers now for next season who are both currently playing well for their respective clubs.
So who would you all like to see playing the centres for us next year, obviously we have Dave v for one slot, but who would you like to see in the other centre, dont say Gleeson or Lyon as we know none of them will come.
My prefared choice would be Matt Gidley, the guy is pure class, he has awsome ball skills and his game is centred around creating space for his winger. He would be great playing inside Calderwood, other centres I like are Clinton Toopi frm the NZ Warriors, hes a very explosive centre with plenty of pace and good ball skills.

Re: New Centre
How about Ryan Cross from the Roosters? He's 26, tall pacey centre. He has experienced grand final rugby down under and would bring a lot to next years side - don't know what his contract situation is though
Failing that, how about Lelea Paea? He also a centre for the Roosters, however is down the pecking order. He's a young, fast developing classy centre.
Failing that we should kidnap Lyon!

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?
Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

Gidley sounds good to me
Re: New Centre
Another player I like is Chris Walker, he can play centre or wing, he is very dynamic runner with a similar running style to Lyon, he's only 24 now so he would be a signing with plenty of rugby ahead of him.

Re: New Centre
Personally, I'm hoping that Brett isn't on his way back to the NRL as I think he deserves to see successful times at the club.
There aren't many players who would have been willing to forget playing for the Aussie national team to continue playing in Super League.
I think there's a good chance in the past 5 years if Brett had been playing in the NRL he would have been a regular for a wing spot in the test squad.
Anyway, back to the topic. The names mentioned so far have been very impressive but will any of them be willing to give up on a national team spot to come to Super League.
I'd also like to see Toopi from NZ Warriors playing at Wigan. Another player who has impressed me this season is in fact a player already in Super League (no, not Jamie Lyon !!), Kirk Yeaman from Hull.

Re: New Centre
Didn't Jamie Lyon say he's definitely not staying in SL next season, or was that another rumour?
Kirk Yeaman has had a good season, Ive also been impressed with him, been in my fantasy team for a few months now and hasn't let me down!

Re: New Centre
Yeaman has been very strong for Hull and much underrated. Gidley would be the final cog in the piece for next season and would add something major to the squad apart, from the origin players who we have no chance of Cooper from ST George would be the only player to do this.

Re: New Centre
So far there's only one rumour in the Daily Express to suggest he's going, and that paper invents new stories on a daily basis, usually contradicting what they'd said the day before. On a par with the Manchester Evening News in the unsubstantiated rumour stakes.warrior till i die posted:

Re: New Centre
So we look like this for next season
2.Dallas.
3.Vialiki
4.Richards.
5.Calderwood.
That looks much more like it to me just hope richards is a line breaker he looked good on the wing but not seen him attacking the line.
Time for the halfback threads again.
