Rugby League’s oldest and most prestigious competition, the Tetley’s Challenge Cup, will gain an unprecedented profile next month when all four quarter-finals will be televised live.
BBC Sport and Sky Sports will show the four ties over four consecutive days from Thursday June 5 as the eight remaining clubs battle it out to take another step nearer the final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday August 23.
The action kicks off on Thursday June 5 at the Select Security Stadium where the Sky Sports cameras will be on hand to capture a repeat of the 1937 Challenge Cup final, Widnes Vikings v Keighley Cougars (8.00pm).
Twenty four hours later Sky Sports will again bring their outstanding coverage to the tie that pits Leeds Rhinos and Leigh Centurions, the respective leaders of the Super League and Championship, together at Headingley Carnegie Stadium (8.00pm).
On Saturday June 7, the action switches to BBC1 for the mouth-watering all-Super League showdown between holders Wigan Warriors and in-form Castleford Tigers at DW Stadium (2.30pm).
And on Sunday, Bradford Bulls and Warrington Wolves go head-to-head on BBC2 in the last tie of the round at Provident Stadium (2.30pm).
Details of ticket prices and availability for all four ties will be confirmed by the competing clubs in the next few days.
The Tetley’s Challenge Cup quarter-final schedule in full is as follows:

All four Cup quarter-finals to be televised live
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Sky allow the BBC to show recorded highlights of Super League games from their contract on their Super League show and the BBC are now allowing Sky to have coverage from their contract to show Challenge Cup games on their Channels.Kittwazzer wrote:About time Sky and BBC learned how to play together nicely!
Like you say, about time they helped each other.
Pity, that the BBC not do more with a larger number of our players on their programme 'A Question of Sport', especially when it is produced at Salford Quays.
