All the youngsters we have coming through compared to the seasoned/retirement looming squad Leeds have. How long have Maguire, Burrow and Sinfield been around? If one of them is injured they rarely play a youngster. They bought Paul Aiton instead of promoting a Hooker from their academy.
Look at us, Powell, Williams, Crosby, Hampshire, Burgess, Manfredi etc all getting first team rugby and banging all these so called superstars left right and centre.
It was a masterstroke choosing our former youth coach to coach our first team, he knows them inside out.
The future is bright and it's damn sure cherry and white![/list]

Shaun Wane DOES NOT know the kids inside out and is a very limited coach, without Lockers playing, Andy Farrell giving speeches and whatever else you want to put out there he would be useless!!

It is never EITHER / OR. Leeds to their credit have replaced players very successfully in recent seasons and have the best outside backs in SL. Yes, the trio of playmakers are ageing / on their legs BUT Sutcliffe was there yesterday and their U16s have some fantastic talents as does Wigan. We (Wigan) and other SL clubs are taking some of the Stanningley junior (Leeds have several) such is the rich crop youngsters. So comparing ourselves to Leeds is a very bad idea. Yst of SL but not Leeds and perhaps Saints.
Right OR wrong our policy is down to IL and Wane is happy with that policy. Wane is doing fantastically well but he long gone junior coach. He never coached nearly all the juniors coming through now as juniors. Not that it matters.
Yesterday was awesome but be careful what you wish for. Plenty of us remember the Kevin Brown era having a similarly amazing day v Saints. Too much was then expected too soon; week in week out; with not enough experience and we bombed.

I will simplify it for you, comparing our youngsters to Leeds youngsters is very easy, ours are better, fact!! Imagine Leeds with the injury problems we had yesterday, would they have beat us, absolutely not, we would have destroyed them. It's not about him coaching EVERY youngster that has come through the club, which top quality coaches have? It's about him trusting his junior coaches opinion, watching many junior games and appreciating which youngsters can step up at the right time and which can't!! Where have you read any criticism of SW by me here. Exactly none! I want to see Wigan being the best club in and competitive globally. I cannot engage in a debate with somebody making such ludicrous statements as Leeds youngsters are crap. What a ill informed statement to make! The original post by Tony was wrong but at least it was genuine.
