I am ashamed to say I left the GB/Australia test at the Reebok Stadium in 2001 after just 50 frost bitten minutes of Kangaroo dominance and was roundly abused by-in particular- a group of "ladies" from Castleford who looked like they had just stepped out of a Beryl Cook painting.

I smiled calmly as I descended the steps and headed at speed to my double room at the Lowry Hotel in the company of a game female colleague from work, OK so I missed all the GB points but as you point out...we sometimes have very good reasons for not wanting to see out a foregone conclusion game to the inevitable end. You'll discover there is more to life than Rugby League as you get older he said patronisingly...cricket and rugby union for instance
Oddly, that was also the only game I've walked out of! Didn't really help, as I couldn't get out of the carpark any quicker but it was too much for our group to cope with! My friends have threatened to walk at the JJB from time-to-time, but I've always refused to leave before the end.

i have to leave before the end as i have a 2 year old and cant be doing with all the congestion at the end.
If anyone gave me abuse i'd throw them in the douggie! Its the price you pay for an all seater...

Cant blame half the fans though with some of the rubbish thats been played recently if they cant be bothered playing 80 minutes why should the fan cheer them on for 80 minutes.

The wakefield fans singing? the whole taxi full? :D

Poor guy!

I totally understand why people with young kids walk out. I would do the same because the congestion gets crazy. I (naughtily) get picked up on Robin Park car park and it's always a bit mad if I walk slow out of the stadium. Plus, I'll get an earful from the mother.
