Anybody else surprised by his England start. Not been too impressed since his return.

I think he started to show some real form towards his last few games, but the very fact he was out the game for so long and slipped back in with barely anyone noticing he had been gone is a testament to how quickly he has integrated back into the 13 man code

I think perhaps this was part of the deal to get him back in the game. Personally I'm supprised he's walked back into the England team.

You say he's slipped back in without being noticed, and thats true. I'd say to get in the ENgland team people should be noticing you.

Personally I feel if he wasn't a Wigan Player he wouldn't have been picked. Just hasn't done enough.

Perhaps more an indicement of SL. Joel being right sided certainly helps him with the only alternative being Whitehead who must consider himself very unlucky.

Been picked for his big game experience as much as anything else I suspect.

Joel will only get better and better. The issue is can he play at the highest level for lengthy periods. I am not sure he can at this stage. He needs a full pre season back in RL.

I think you will be surprised cp at Joel's strength & stamina :)
