Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Once played in a game that he reffed, just the same person. The Wilwaukee game was of course a classic.

I liked John Holdsworth, the RFL always had him officiating Wigan v Wire as he was the only referee capable of controlling the game and even he was unable to stop some of the mayhem.

Robin Whitfield v Andy Gregory was another classic contest IIRC. Every game would see the pair go H2H.

He may have been past his best when I started watching RL but I never remember him being very good and all I can ever remember him for is wearing 'forwards' boots whilst officiating.

I wonder if they still have 'forward' boots? Greg used to wear a style IIRC Walsh?

Cameron Smith was wearing something similar last week. Granted not as bulky, but they were definitely more of an ankle / "forwards" boot
