Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Probably the only established referee to get worse this season (Child started badly and carried on the same). Bentham seems to believe he is better than anyone and acts accordingly - there's a touch of Ganson about him now. Silverwood seems to be getting back to his quite good level and even Thaler (gasp) is refereeing pretty well this year.

Looks like Bentham might not have a lot to do tonight, except award Wigan tries...
Footballers spend 90 minutes pretending they're injured. Rugby League players spend 80 minutes pretending they're not.

Not much to do apart from give a pen to kr for attempting to dislodge smiths head from his shoulder.but as Ben flower knows......... You only get punished for landing a good one properly and not for s##t housing like some recently retired players

And managing to ignore the attempt to decapitate Dom Crosby as he scored the first try.

Surely the disciplinary committee will look at the discretions against Smith and Crosby, that touch judge who ran on the pitch to talk to the referee (Smith being clattered) was on the wrong side of the incident so couldn't see the whole story, he's against Wigan every match he officiates for us!

The stiff arm by Walker would have knocked Smith clean out had it connected with the intent it was meant.
It was just sheer luck that Matty's arm was positioned where it was to deflect the blow.
I thought intent was sufficient for a card.
