Re: tripping
It certainly used to be. I think you have to chase a runner from behind and kick his legs away for it to be a straight red!formulamoto wrote:i always thought tripping was a sending off offence , have the rules changed?

Re: tripping
At least it should have been put on report and if Leulai is not cited by the disciplinary committee, it will be a disgrace.TrueBlueWarrior wrote:....or not play for Leeds!!Kittwazzer wrote:It certainly used to be. Re: tripping
It used to be a straight red. Ruling changed quite a few years ago if I'm not mistaken. I think now it depends on the severity of the trip as to what the punishment is.
Re: tripping
Surprised tbh that it was not a penalty to Leeds. Seen they get everything nowpete&kaz wrote:It used to be a straight red. Ruling changed quite a few years ago if I'm not mistaken. I think now it depends on the severity of the trip as to what the punishment is.
Re: tripping
Having read the other posts I'm going to look at the RFL site and see if there's anything there.formulamoto wrote:i always thought tripping was a sending off offence , have the rules changed?

Re: tripping
It definitely used to be a straight red.
At the very least that was a yellow.

Re: tripping
Shows the following on the RFL web-site for punishments :-
Trips A-B Reaction trip
A-D Intentional trip
Also, John Bateman might want to know this bit :-
Strikes - head butting
A-B Head Butting – makes light contact
C-D Head butting – makes full contact
E-F Head butting – makes full contact in aggressive violent manner
Must be some kind of offence then?!?!

Re: tripping
I think this tripping thing is all wrong.
Leuluai didn't stick his foot in front of Bowen to trip him up, he swung his leg out and kicked him with his boot.
Kicking out at an opponent is a sraight red and that IMO is what he should have got.
