Re: Salford Salary Cap breach
It was just a matter of time.
Re: Salford Salary Cap breach
What happened to the concept of the salary cap being constantly monitored? This statement says the breaches being investigated relate to 2014 and 2015 for heavens sake. The RFL have to be the singularly most inept bunch of people running a sport anywhere in the world and what happens if they do get deducted 20 points? What is the point of playing on in a season where you are simply trying to get your points on the table out of the minus sector? I'm not saying they shouldn't be penalised but the rolling programme of checking the cap would have sorted that out in the first place. When did the RFL go back to the old method?
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.
Re: Salford Salary Cap breach
I think the reason it wasn't uncovered under the normal monitoring of the cap is because it relates to second contracts to players through other companies MK owns - not their club contracts that were registered with the RFL. Probably taken them a while to investigate and now they must be satisfied of wrong doing to bring a charge.

This is the beginning of the end of the cap.
I now except him to take this to court as a retrain of trade and other issues and win. He could in a small way do what Jean-Marc Bosman did for football in Europe.

Interesting Mark. Would this not amount to some kind of deception eg trying to obtain some kind of advantage pecuniary or otherwise. Perhaps if we have some legally trained posters on the forum could advise on this point. Just a thought.markill wrote:I think the reason it wasn't uncovered under the normal monitoring of the cap is because it relates to second contracts to players through other companies MK owns - not their club contracts that were registered with the RFL. Re: Salford Salary Cap breach
Given the desperate state the game is in,best to abolish the cap and pray for a handful of owners to buy in big time, hopefully, and allow unfettered competition to stop the rot?

Be interesting to see this unfold as we know Leeds and wire must have done similar for years - will the Dr lash out when cornered?

Even though he says he is innocent he did claim he was going to do it. He also refers to others doing it as WF brought up.

No idea if they have or have not but the reality is the cap is a joke. No more so than at Headingley.
