Not sure why our poor attack is being put down to Harris leaving, he didnt do much to improve Salford.

Perhaps its because you can be a good Assistant Coach, but not a good enough Head Coach.

The best example that Harris gave was at Salford we tried to play exactly like Wigan and it failed. It is quite sad that he now seems to have gone even further down the coaching ladder be it assistant or assistant to sports management/agency.

Salford does/did not have the quality we do through the team and structures.

Whats happened to our forwards always running lines and looking like options. We hardly show that same sort of shape or intent anymore. We had it regardless of who was attack coach between 2010 and 2013 so I don't pin it on any coaching changes.

Maybe we had a better set of creative players back then too.

So we have quality, just got beat by an average team in Widnes who will end up in the bottom 4 at the end of the season

Which side has made the last 2 GF.

We have more quality than Salford anyone with a brain can see that.

Caboosegg wrote:boring.... i thought that game was a brilliant game of rugby,

both sets of teams provided attacking threat across the board and both defended really well. i was never confident we had Won or Lost at any point of the game.

with our attack in their twenty i though it improved drastically from last week, Yes players errors did mess it it up but to say it was our lack of attack plan insults how good widnes were in defense. i didnt come away to disappointed in the loss last night.

we kept a team that has been scoring points for fun to a 6 points difference and that was down to goal kicks.

unlike most i'm happy with smith in the halves, however we do need a Kicker, smith admits himself he isnt a natural one, so the club should have identified a alternative. (like they did when Bowen was kicking at the end of last year).

Only just watched match I enjoyed the game very much. A draw would have been, for me, a good result for us and perhaps a better reflection of the game. However I have reservations re Smith, the pressure put on him in being our recognised kicker must be enormous and surely affect his game. That pressure should be taken from him by the club investing in a specialist kicker The removal of this constraint just might help his'game'

I'm not too concerned about the loss. We scored three tries to their three so excluding the missed conversions means statistically and quantatively there was very little between us. Qualitatively,a subjective judgment Widnes deserved the win. Pleased for Dennis. Far from boring game. Looking forward to Saints game.
