Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Oh deep joy. Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Can't wait.
Re: Referee for Friday
Is there a ref you wouldn't say that about though? Ha. It seems whoever is the ref, the general consensus is they're rubbish and they'll make loads of calls against us.5miler wrote:Oh deep joy. Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Can't wait.
I think Hicks has been the top ref this year in my opinion.

I like Cobb. Doesn't dither and send everything up to video ref. Sticks to his instincts.
Re: Referee for Friday
Slightly OT, but I don't suppose anyone else is watching the mildly amusing Son Of A B****, Brazilian comedy series box-set on All4?
It's about the life of a top football referee unravelling: career, marriage...
The referees (and I assume this really happens in Brazil) enter the stadium under an array of Plexiglas shields, courtesy of the riot police, whilst they are pelted by the crowd with cans, bog rolls, just about anything they can lay their hands on, really.

Re: Referee for Friday
better than Childs... last week was the first time i havent gone home and realised most of the calls made were correct,
i generally want the club to raise a formal complaint the Consistency of the reffing was Dire.

These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

Gasp! The new refs have been the best - Cobb, Hewer & Kendall. The only 'senior' ref to be worth his place is Thaler.markill wrote:Is there a ref you wouldn't say that about though? Ha. Hicks is like Child, indecisive and when under pressure becomes authoritarian and makes even more mistakes. Like a lot of players, he's been around for a while and doesn't seem to have learnt or improved.
The only thing that can be guaranteed, sadly, is that, like Child, he will upset both sides and the game is likely to degenerate as both sides then feel aggrieved.
Hopefully, the new brigade will get their chance in the play-offs this season.

Re: Referee for Friday
James Child has been appointed to take charge of the Halifax v Featherstone Rovers game in the Championship.
I wonder why?

Re: Referee for Friday
I will say it again. Hicks is not fit to be a linesman let alone a referee.
Regarder une fille en bikini, c'est comme avoir un revolver chargé sur sa table:
Il n'y a rien de mal a ça mais il est difficile de penser à autre chose.
Now Europe is just for holidays.

Although that's actually a more significant game than any being played in Super League this weekendWhelley Warrior wrote:James Child has been appointed to take charge of the Halifax v Featherstone Rovers game in the Championship.
