Paralympics

Post by Wandering Warrior »

First night and some great entertainment.
Visually impaired cyclists and one armed swimmers, what tremendous character and resolve they must have?

11 medals for Team GB

5 gold, 6 silver, 6 bronze

????????????????????

Dame Sarah Storey has won her 12th Gold Medal ????????????????????????
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I always think that there should be more made of the Paralympics - I don't doubt that usain bolt for example didn't train hard to win his medals but he was born a genetically gifted runner to start with

In the Paralympics the competitors have been born or subsequently become impaired and fight against it to compete and that to me is more worthy of merit

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure
