Contracts
Reading Iestyn Harris in today's paper, he says that the RFL is considering central contracts (presumably for all home nations players) and 'ambassadorial contracts' worth up to £25,000 a year. If this is true - and the RFL can afford it - it would be a huge boost to the game. I know that salary caps would still be weighted in favour of big clubs but 'lower placed' clubs who supply players to the international teams would have more cash at their disposal. Worth pursuing.
A word of encouragement during a failure is worth more than an hour of praise after success.
