Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Oh joy F**king James Child. RFL must have thought how can we make it hard work for Wigan to get to Wembley? Surprised they have not put BENT ham as video ref.????
Re: Referee for Semi Final
In the greater scheme of things, Child's isn't imo too bad. Maybe a tad over zealous but reasonable.

My worst nightmare come true!
Re: Referee for Semi Final
You can count any favouritism out - he had a bottle thrown at him at the AJ Bell stadium recently ! So Salford fans probably just as dismayed.
What I think about him, is he starts off to be fair to both sides, but then "something" happens on field and he either has no support from his Touch judges, or simply not the skill and ability to handle those situations, and then he simply loses it and dishes out penalties to try and compensate, which annoys players, coaches and fans the same.
Lets hope none of this affects the result on Sunday.

I though that Bentham had a good game today.

He was OK, but as I've said before, whether a game flows smoothly or is a constant whistle-fest is 90% down to the players, not the ref.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:I though that Bentham had a good game today.

He had a shaky start but did OK for the rest of the match. Certainly the players helped by not conceding penalties but fair play to him.moto748 wrote:He was OK, but as I've said before, whether a game flows smoothly or is a constant whistle-fest is 90% down to the players, not the ref.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:I though that Bentham had a good game today.
The big worry is the rubbish camera coverage by BBC. I'm fairly sure that Hall's second try was legit but you could hear Hicks in the Video Box saying that the pictures were blurred, there were only 2 angles and he gave the try because he couldn't see any reason not to on Bentham's original call, not because he could clearly see it was a try.
All that and John (I won something 100 years ago) Kear makes you understand why Sky needs to keep control of SL.
Re: Referee for Semi Final
Ref has been Salford's best player.
Footballers spend 90 minutes pretending they're injured. Rugby League players spend 80 minutes pretending they're not.
