Warrington are about to sign forward Sitaleki Akauola from Penrith Panthers on a two-year deal – according to channel 9 in Australia.
Akauola is highly rated Down Under and was part of the Panthers team that impressed many by making the NRL finals last season.
However, the 25-year-old has only featured seven times this campaign and will move to the Halliwell Jones Stadium in search of regular playing time.
Despite his size and power, the Tongan international has also played on the wing several times and will add a great utility value to Tony Smith’s side.
Akauola, who has also played for Wests Tigers, has made over 30 first-grade appearances and will hope to reignite his career in England.

WARRINGTON SET TO LAND NRL FORWARD
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
