RU looking more appealing by the minute.
P. S. We could always convert to Union with Enwards coming back. Recall Lydon, the Farells et. al has coaches😇 Joking? Yes and No
...then watch the crowds go down. For some of us, Union wouldn't be appealing if it looked like Beyoncé in a skimpy bikini

Boycotting Wigan is a disgrace and a financial hit for the RFL. We could get 24,000 or 25,000 on easily with the correct marketing even for a round robin game... Aus v NZ?!

The sooner the RFL change the better.

As Medlocke says... #SLEXIT
We couldn't get 24,000 to 25,000 in for any International game, lets be honest.

Who would believe Wigan Warriors the most famous rugby league club in the world would not be hosting any matches in the World Cup. How petty and unprofessional of the powers that be. I have emailed my strong objections to enquires@rlwc2021.com. How can we have these people damaging our great game. Now they are not happy with that they announce a two point deduction on the eve of our first game of the season, petty and vindictive.
I am hopping mad.

I don't have a massive problem with the points deduction if we broke the rules, although it does seem a bit harsh. But I fully agree that Wigan not hosting WC games is ridiculous, although to what extent the blame for this happening is divided between the stadium owners, the Club, and the RFL, is unclear. Certainly the DW not bidding for the group games sounds poor, and if the thinking was "Well, they'll have to give us a semi-final at least now", that sounds like David Davis-standard negotiation.

I’m with you Mick. To give Bolton and Leigh a gig and leave Wigan out would be baffling to someone from another planet, to those involved in the game it is simply taking the Michael (didn’t want the RFL to ban me for swearing!). Such a decision shows that our great game is being run by idiots with a chip on their shoulder. Wigan, as a club, need to pull together and ram this and other biased decisions right down their throats.

In the last ten years what sort of international game crowds have we got at the DW?

Furthermore what are the best crowds for outside of the DW?

I understand “if done right” but it hasn’t been done right for as long as I can remember and there’s arent many signs it will. So it’s just an unrealistic idea at the moment.

There were over 22,000 at the DW for the last W/Cup game here (England v France) and that was on a Saturday night.
There was also a Full House for England v NZ Kiwis during the last tour here (Baskerville Shield).
None of the other venues can get such a crowd, except Bolton. In fact, Saints only got 14,000 for a Kangaroos game !
And that's a serious loss of revenue the game can ill afford.
