To sum up, IMO, Williams would have been/be more effective with a regular halfback partner that would complement Williams style of play.
The problem with this argument is in my opinion having a player like Smith as Williams half back partner doesn't solve the problem because the opposition know just to follow Williams. That is what happened when we had Smith as the 7 because he offered zero threat.
This problem is compounded when the no 9 as in Powell doesn't offer any threat from AHB either.
It's all on Williams and so it kind of doesn't matter what sort of half back he is, if the opposition can ignore our 7 & 9 which they mostly can, Williams is on a hiding to nothing.
So in my view you can't just have a quality 6. You need more than we have on offer from 7 & 9 as well.

That sums up the Williams situation perfectly, plus at the same time, he's playing behind a beaten pack. A double whammy for a Half.

There is a fellow on rlfans stating that Williams to Canberra is now a done deal, Any thoughts?
I was told two weeks ago that it had all been signed!

that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
