LENAGAN CONFIDENT OF WIGAN REVIVAL

Post by josie andrews »

WIGAN WARRIORS CHAIRMAN IAN LENAGAN IS CONFIDENT THE BETFRED SUPER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS CAN QUICKLY GET THEIR SEASON KICKSTARTED.

Only points difference is keeping the Warriors off the foot of the table after losing four of their opening five matches, most recently to bottom club Huddersfield Giants.

Interim head coach Adrian Lam admitted he was “rattled” after his team’s latest defeat but Lenagan remains confident the champions can quickly arrest their slump as they prepare for Friday’s Grand Final rematch with Warrington Wolves.

“I don’t think it’s a crisis,” Lenagan said. “It’s been a disappointing start but we’ve got a good squad of players and they don’t become a bad squad of players overnight.

“It’s been hard and it’s difficult for our supporters but I’m sure there will come a point when we will all click back into action and there would be no better time to start than at Warrington on Friday night.”

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

The thing is, Warrington will no doubt want to batter us. We can’t improve by that much to turn them over whilst they entertain the upper echelons of the league table. Austin will have a field day

Hope Williams can totally outplay him, will definitely be stronger than him defensively. Much will depend on our pack performing, to give him a platform.

Seems like he will wonder what to say on Saturday after we are battered on Friday.

Revival? Having a laugh MR IL we cannot get the basics right.

I could handle this if we looked in any of the games but we are not.

I'm fuming we having nothing but patchy defense and errors.

I understood standing by Wane he had a proven record before his bad runs.

Lam has no answers and no past record, he looks out of his depth.

Bet he blames Escare for missing the catch but ignore gildart and williams doing naff all but a half hearted attempted to block a runner.
