This is worrying!
Re: Sean O'Loughlin to play on with Wigan Warriors in 2020?
If its on a deacon style contract then fine (half player half coach) during a period of massive change we need his stability both on the pitch and off the pitch.
However if he is playing on i cannot see him being able to demand the same tyoe of wage that previously has.

These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

If wigan are daft enough to offer him a contract I'm sure he'll take it .
Great player long past it.

Without being funny I can see Clubb and Sarginson being offered new deals too
I'm a better fan than you
Because I don't "Boo"!!!
Yes I bloody know transfer fees do not count on the salary cap for those illiterates that need it explaining to them because they assume everyone is as thick as they are

It’s £75,000 that counts on the cap if club trained, £150,000 if not.nathan_rugby wrote:Marquee Rule:
They can only be considered if there salary would be 175k or more before the rule is applied.
The club could pay Lockers £80k if it wanted and “only” £75k would count on the cap. Obviously a silly thing do but the rules allow it.
Don’t think any of the names in the frame in this thread should take up a marquee slot regardless of it only being £75k on the cap for Lockers.

Put him on a pay as play deal ,he'll end up owing the club.

Irrespective of whether he is worth the salary, there is little point in him carrying on.
It's like putting a sticking plaster over the teams shortcomings.

A marquee player is a player whose salary cap value would be (but for the provisions of this clause) £175,000 or more.
Whilst it is true that Lockers may only have £75,000 of his salary counted on the salary cap, he would need to be earning at least £175,000 or he would not meet the rules of being a marquee player.

If today didn't make the club sit up and take stock of just exactly where we are and where we need to get to then I don't know what will ,
if the club offer Sean another year then they've learned nothing.
