Holts injury update

Get the latest news on the Wigan Warriors squad with the Holts injury update.

Following the Dacia Magic Weekend defeat to Warrington, Adrian Lam explained that he hoped to have a full fit and healthy squad to choose form (excluding long-term injuries Davies and Manfredi) to pick from by the time they travel to face Hull KR on the 9th June.

He said, “We’ve got a feeling that everyone will be eligible for selection which will be the first time this year bar Joe Greenwood, depending what his injury is like.”

Liam Farrell
Following a lengthy lay off with a pectoral tear (sustained back in February vs Sydney Roosters), second-row Liam Farrell was back in full first team training today.

Long-term injuries:

Tom Davies (ankle)

Dom Manfredi (knee)

Hope so.
Think Wigan will have to consider his position if he gets another bad injury.
Bet he’s had 3 years on the sidelines, which isn’t good.
It’s such a shame. If he hadn’t had such bad injuries I think he would of been a superstar and would have had regular place in the England lineup.
And probably gone to Nrl 😤

How many years did saints stick by lomax?
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

Injury update on Wigan Warriors' Joe Greenwood... and it's good news

Joe Greenwood has avoided a long injury lay-off.

The England forward was taken to hospital after Saturday’s Magic Weekend loss to Warrington with suspected broken ribs.

With this weekend off because of the Challenge Cup, Lam will check on him early next week – but has not ruled him out of their next match, at Hull KR on Sunday week.

Greenwood suffered the injury during the first-half of Saturday’s game at Anfield, which Wigan lost 26-14.

It was the second successive game that the 26-year-old had retired early from a match – he suffered a knee injury in the defeat to Catalans at the Nou Camp.

Greenwood’s likely availability will strengthen Lam’s options as he begins to consider his squad for the trip to face the Robins.

Sam Powell (head) and Thomas Leuluai (shoulder) are expected to come back into the frame.

And Liam Marshall (shoulder) may also be back fit, meaning Lam’s only front-line absentees would be wingers Dom Manfredi and Tom Davies – out for the season. He also lost Gabe Hamlin to suspension as he waits for UKAD to complete its case against him.

Wigan were due to train again today but will then have a long weekend off to rest and recover before reporting back on Monday to begin preparations for their next match.

Great to hear that Dom is on the way back. What a man.
If I read that article correctly, the team are having a holiday, with one training session this week. Is this because the coach believes they are so fit and well drilled they have earned a break? How bad does it need to get before they pull their fingers out. I can’t wait for these next 3 games to be over so we can move on with a new coach.
