Re: Sarge
Me neither, possibly someone's confused him with Chris Atkin at KR? I've seen us linked with him a few times.Firestarter wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 6:06 pm Ive not read or heard anything about atkins and find it very unlikely to be honest......... been wrong before though
Re: Sarge
Sarge? He must have one of hell of an agent to keep getting these contracts!
This thread is the exact reason I only travel to 1 or 2 home games a season instead of the 8-12 I did when we had quality players worth paying the entry fee for. (A game with petrol, tickets and food approx £100 a time) I can Only assume this is why attendances have dropped?!
For what it’s worth.......Lockers YES I would sign again even if he hasn’t been brilliant in the pass couple of games. Clubb, yes if the price is right and nothing better available. Sarginson, No. Very simply not good enough.....can’t catch, pass and definitely can’t tackle any player with decent physicality.

The drop in quality players or total cost of attending?mjdodge13 wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 11:07 pm Sarge? He must have one of hell of an agent to keep getting these contracts!

Re: Sarge
I imagine a combination.
We have season tickets family of four and we go with friends. We spend plenty in shop three shirts and other stuff this year. We went to Saints away and Salford away we was going to go to more but spending money on the product that on offer at momment seems a bit of an extravagant waste. I except you lose games, that we have issues..... new coach, transition period and so on.
The crowds though have dropped off for a reason. I would class myself as glass half full fan but we do seem to have been shooting ourself in the foot. We may well be a victim of circumstances but we are Wigan! I find the sell culture and return of players to the club unWigan. I found the Edwards situation unWigan the points deduction an embarrassment "Again!". Problem is I could go on and its not just Wigan its RL and the running of.
We had saved up for Barcelona but didn't go. We saved up for magic but didn't go.
I cant say spending money on what's being served on and off the field at the momment is a priority and for most of my life it has been. I have had Wigan tv since it came out I must have watched it three times max since the season started.
If fans like me are disalusioned then we do face problems. I think with clarity and some strong descision making it can be turned around. Our marketing is dull comunication is broken and our image of cost cutting adds to a feeling of a downwards spiral. Though I'm not 100% sure of that "cost cutting" myself enough feel that way that it's a issue . I'm still here and waiting for us to turn the corner and I can never imagine not being, but as a working family I understand why others are not attending games as regulars and we need to turn that around.

You've saved me a lot of typing, cos that's pretty much how I feel! A few years back, I was making 400 mile round trips to home games and a fair few away ones too. But the current situation is dispiriting, and the news coming through does not give rise to optimism.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
