Re: Tomkins to leave HKR
Joel Tomkins looks set to leave Hull KR even though he has two years remaining on his contract, according to reports.
Hull Live says the 32-year-old - who joined KR in June 2018 after resigning from Wigan - will depart immediately, less than a year after signing a new three-year deal.
Tomkins, who was captain of the Robins this season, had two spells with hometown club Wigan, sandwiching a spell in union in which he played for England.
He famously scored a stunning try at Wembley during the 2011 Challenge Cup Final.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

KR confirm Tomkins departure
Hull KR have confirmed the departure of experienced captain Joel Tomkins on compassionate grounds.
The 32-year-old joined the Robins mid-way through 2018 and was appointed captain at the start of this campaign.
He signed a three-year deal last November but will now leave the club.
He has made 35 appearances for the club since signing, scoring six tries.
“I would like to thank all the players, staff and fans of Hull KR for their support during my time at the club,” said Tomkins.
“I would like to especially thank (owner) Neil Hudgell and (head coach) Tony Smith for understanding my position and accepting my request to be released.
“I believe that now is the right time for me to move on and look at the next chapter of my career.
“I have really enjoyed working with Tony and genuinely believe he is the right man to take this club to the next level. I wish the team the best of luck for the future.”
KR head coach Tony Smith added: “Joel has asked the club for a release on compassionate grounds and we have accepted.
“Joel and I have a great relationship and we have thoroughly enjoyed working with each other.
Everybody at the club would like to wish him all the very best of luck for the future and thank him for his time, efforts and leadership whilst at Rovers.”

Re: Tomkins to leave HKR
please no, i know we have a record currently of taking in people with problems but this guy and his brother should not be allowed near a wigan shirt again.
you can't be threatening towards bar staff slagging of wigan as a place then pull on a shirt and expect people in the area to support you.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.
