There is not a specialist in the land that would tell you to wear one as it will protect you from concussion as they don't, concussion is sustained from the motion of the head knock and not the actual bang, head guards give protection from bruising and the soft areas like the temple

Don't knock them until you've tried them!!!

Obviously you will still receive injuries to the face but the head injuries we have and do see (mainly concussion) are reduced. So are you saying that in your opinion those and those used in other sports like boxing do nothing? Against all the medical evidence to the contrary ?

I think certain players need to be a little more mature about personal safety and less worrying about how they look. What next? Mouth guards give false sense of protection to teeth?
I’m not saying I’m an expert! Nor is it my opinion!

I’m just repeating what Greenwood said to me when I asked him if he would consider wearing a scrum cap to reduce the chance of getting concussion. He said that the specialist had told him that.
Well Joe Greenwood was not being honest with what he told you then

There is not a specialist on the planet that would risk the compo claims and ruination of their reputation and careers by giving "advice" out like that about what essentially is safety equipment. So if Greenwood has a bad head knock and is seriously hurt next time, he or his family wouldn't pursue a claim against this person for bad advice? - ridiculous

I thought when Faz was banned we’d struggle but I’d forgotten about Greenwood and that he might be fit to play and I thought he had a good game which is the last thing that can be said of Isa and Lockers last week.

He’s also got Byrne and Smithies in before him. Good young players but still inexperienced and Navarete? What on Earth is he still in the side for?

Very strange decision this one for me.
I agree Dave, and you forgot to mention Clubb. How poor his form is before he gets dropped is a mystery to me.

Lam's deficiencies in team selections and extraordinary loyalty to certain players will either finish this season on Friday night or end up with us retaining the trophy.

Round peg to square hole mentality as a coach. Appears to not be able to craft tactics/game plan around the players he has available but wants them to play his way or get dropped. For those chomping at the bit ready to explode in frothy fervor about finishing second let me explain - If we use TL as an example for our kicking game, rather than just admit TL kicking isn't very good and adjust to that fact, Lam persists with TL being one of our main tactical kickers - hence one of the reasons why we struggle to maintain pressure on opposition sides on the last tackle
I tend to agree. i've stuck up for Lam throughout the season, but some of the selections recently have me baffled. I know we don't see what goes on at training, but to play Sam Powell with 1 hand, and leave Greenwood out while Clubb and Navarette are in beggars belief as far as i'm concerned.
And as for Tommy's kicking game, it's never been any good, even when he was in his pomp. So as you say, why persevere with it. ? It was a big part of why we were stuck in our own 25 for most of last weeks game.
