People seem unable to let go of the pre-salary cap era.

We cant just go out and buy the best players these days.

Some years are going to be less successful than others, its the nature of the modern game. This year its Warrington and either Saints or Salfords turn.

I know its frustrating that we showed so much promise leading up to the play offs only to fall at the last couple of hurdles but the players gave it their all and you cant ask for more than that.

Ian listened to us and brought in a new coach to get us playing some wonderful free flowing attacking rugby and we must keep the faith and the consistency will come next year with more stability and no SE debacle hanging over the team.

We the fans can make all the difference next year by snapping up season tickets and being the 18th man to hopefully help push us all the way back to where we belong.

It has to be winning every season else what’s the point? We are Wigan. Wigan means Winning

Wane made us win, ugly or not that was a sub plot.

I have renewed for next year.

Ces Mountford
And the “kind of rugby player you’d want to be in your dreams” James Leytham

I agree and so have I.

Er what "free flowing attacking rugby" was this then I must have missed it, what I saw most games was a team lost its focus in defence and attack, bar the beatings handed out to a static Catalan side that side went backwards this season.

All teams had injuries and only saints really made hay, that was down to a coach who had made an impact practically the day he walked through the door, yes Lam was dealt a bad hand by agreeing to take over for a job one forced him to do, i know I wouldn't have in any way shape or form, but I've said my piece on the Edwards affair, but Lam has struggled to know his best team for most of the season and I have huge doubts about him next time out, again my opinion isn't based on the last 2 games.

Nonsense. Where has anyone said we need to recruit half the Aussie test team or whatever?

No where. Everyone on here knows we pay to the full cap, knows we pay marquee wages and take account of every salary cap dispensation going to pay the highest wages possible.

People are complaining that despite doing that a team with four ex Wigan forwards deemed not good enough for Wigan who spend the third least on their squad in the league played us off the park in the semi final. That and the general performance across the season that saw us fail to win a single crucial game.

Wonderful free flowing rugby? Give over. If you want to put the 2nd place down to anything it’s the defence after Peet returned.

I also completely disagree the players gave their all. They looked like they couldn’t be bothered in more than a few games. In particular they simply didn’t look up for a battle v Saints whenever we played them. They looked intimidated if anything. This and the capitulation that went with it is I think the biggest issue a lot,of fans have.

Put it this way: if you watched the NRL GF, did you see half a dozen Canberra or Roosters players ambling back to the defensive line, and hence out of play for that set?

No, you did not! And if they did, I doubt they'd be in the first team for long!
